What speeches will I be giving as a new member?

ANSWER. When you join, you are given a "Communication and Leadership Manual" - this is one of the items that you receive with your $20 New Member fee. The "C & L Manual" contains 10 speech projects which build on each other. For example, the first speech (The Ice Breaker) allows you to confront you nervousness as you give a speech about the topic you know the most - yourself! As you become more and more comfortable, you will give speeches that allow you to use more and more skills: vocal variety, gestures, organization, using props, and inspiring your audience. The manual gives you ideas about how to write and prepare for each of your speeches, but you have the freedom to choose the topic.
