Aren't you guys professional speakers?

ANSWER. Oh, good heavens no! Some Toastmasters go on to become professional speakers but most do NOT start out that way. Typically new members want to improve their speaking ability for themselves or for work. With each speech they present the process gets a little easier. Their confidence, poise, and skills grow with practice. Their fear eventually goes away for the most part. In time many begin to love public speaking, to crave it, to do it as often as they can. Perseverance and the coaching you'll receive through Toastmasters can make it happen.
