Competent Leader ("CL")
One must be a Competent Toastmaster ("CTM") before becoming a CL. See designation described under the Communications Track. To earn the CL designation one must complete the speeches required in two (2) manuals from the Leadership Excellence Series and/or the Successful Club Series. See "E" and "H" above under Things to Do. Other requirements include:
- Be a club officer for at least 6 months.
- During tenure as a club officer participate in the preparation of a club success plan.
- During tenure as officer participate in a district-sponsored "Club Officer Training Program."
Advanced Leader ("AL")
One must be a CL before becoming an AL. To earn this designation one must complete the High Performance Leadership Skills program. See "D" above under Things to Do. Other requirements include:
- Serve a complete term as a District Officer.
- Serve as a club sponsor, mentor or specialist/coach.
